Generations?

Is a 1994 civic a third or fourth gen. civic i want to know because i want to swap the d series motor for a b series motor.

one is a B series, one is a D series.
there are MULTIPLE B series engines, and multiple D series engines.
B16A, B18C, B18B, B17A, B20B, B20Z, etc.....
D16Y, D15B, D16Z, and so on and so forth.

Aren't the B series out of japan? or isn't there some major difference that makes it a b series?

no....some are jdm, some arent.
B series are DOHC motors.
D series are SOHC motors except there was a DOHC d motor.
B series have more power than D series, more torque, etc etc...

theres also d16zc dohc
and d17... something that was dohc too.

D17? never heard of that. except for the new honda motors. and those are SOHC.
