I don't actually do all that wear green / drink irish beer deal.. I just use it as another excuse to get drunk and go partying. I'll be celebrating with my bottle of Seagrams 7 dressed to impress (read as: get laid)

To quote The Descendents, "fuck St. Patty's day". Seriously...if you have to have a day to schedule in drinking or partying, just don't do it. It's like all of those assholes who don't do anything on April 20th but get stoned "cause it's 4/20, dude!!!!11!11!". It's no different than buying your girlfriend overpriced shit just because it's Febuary 14th. If you need a day to do it, just don't.

I'm irish and all but I almost never remember or do anything...
IF I drink beer that I bought it's almost always guiness... I don't like to drink too much beer and it's the only one I like... I got it in bottles recently (I'm used to the cans) and it's not as good... although the first one was worse than the second... so I think I was just re-adjusting to the "great" flavor of guiness... Also I had it in england once and it was MUCH better there... also they serve it warm which believe it or not was better too... It's not really warm so much as NOT cold... but it's good that way... I find that the second half always goes down easier than the first too... I think it's cuz it's warmed up a bit... Well all this talk has got me in the mood... I'm gunna go pop open a guiness.

It's that way in pretty much all of Europe. They serve beer a little bit below room temperature because they can. The beer there is so damn good they don't need to chill it to near freezing. The reason we do that here is because our beer tastes so bad that it needs to be served ice cold to numb your taste buds.

I'm not a huge fan of Guiness, either. It's alright...but to me it tastes too much like coffee (never have figured out why). Besides...I don't generally like beer that pours like ketchup. However, if you get it from a tap and the bartender knows how to pour it (yes, there's a right and wrong way), it's not so bad. I just won't pick it up from the liquor store.

agreed. i hate it when the tenders pour it as fast as possible. i always opt for the slow pour, i dun mind waiting for something that good. i also never buy it in offsale, draught only. the other night i had a bottle of Stella then switched over to Guinness. and it did taste a lot like coffee. but in a different way...i dunno hard to explain.
