Is it just me, or isn't it a bit hypocritical of the Western world to think we can decide who gets nukes and who doesn't? I mean...we've got the most and we run rampant all over the fucking world "spreading freedom" to people who by and large don't like us a whole lot. Russia's got a lot too, and their hands aren't exactly clean either. In contrast, when was the last time North Korea picked a fight with anyone besides South Korea? Nukes are more symbols today anyhow. India and Pakistan have never been more friendly...probably because now they're both nuclear (or, if you happen to lead this country, "nucular"). Fuck, even Israel has at least one (although no president has ever publicly stated that they do). Hmmm...wonder where they got that technology/material. All a nuke is these days is a peace maker and an economic benefit (you tend not to bicker so much about money when someone has the capability to ruin your shit). Look at the cold war...the largest stockpiling of nukes ever. No one fired a single shot. Not even Cuba...and they're not exactly known for having even tempers. I mean...Iran can't have them but I'm sure we'd be down with our old friends in the Kingdom of Saud having them despite the fact that they bred the lion's share of the 9/11 terrorists. Even if Iran is so volitile, most people predict they're at least 5 years away from having bomb capabilities. I'm not saying the should have a bomb or that if they are violent we should wait right up until they're ready to do damage, but why the fuck is everyone just shitting themselves now over all of this? I won't suggest it's to draw attention away from other things but...well...ok, I will say that.
