War Of The Worlds

This is a must see movie, You all Need to see this movie. Speilberg didn't fluff it up at all, tom cruise acted extremely well, so did dakota fanning. 2 1/2 hours of non-stop extreme action.

I think I'll skip it and watch the original. Dakota Fanning is a phenominal actress for her age, but Tom Curise is just such a complete douche bag. All of his bullshit publicity stunts as of late make me want to avoid this movie purely out of spite.

I heard all the characters were 1 dimensional and the whole thing was just lacking. I might see it anyway, today...

That...and there's no way in hell I'm giving money to a member (Cruise) of a cult (scientology).

If I avoided movies just because they used publicity stunts to promote it then I'd never get to see a movie... outside of the occasional indie film... which isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's just that occasionally I like to shut down my brain for a couple hours out of the month, give it a break from constantly trying to figure out why other people are such morons, and just see lots of big explosions and car chases.

Besides, I really don't think it's fair to blame the celebrities for all the publicity stunts. Afterall, if the general public honestly didn't care then there would be no reason for them. So next time you're in the grocery store make sure to give a big "F*ck U" to the overweight housewife buried in an issue of PEOPLE.

Normally publicity stunts are just publicity stunts. I've gotten used to them. But getting engaged and jumping around on Oprah's furniture and arguing with that Today Show guy (who just sat back and let Cruise make an ass of himself) to promote your movie is a bit much.

well he did say one thing i agree with, medication should not be used to for issues in the head, it is a treatment and not a cure, you should be spending money on research on trying to figure out how it happens, and how to fix it rather than a drug that subsides the "brain diesase"

Right, but his logic is ridiculously flawed. He claimed to "know the history of psychiatry" which is bullshit because scientologists don't believe in it. Even if he had done research, as a scientologist he's only allowed to read scientology-approved books and materials. So essentially he knows what the church of scientology wants him to know (unless he wants to be labeled a "suppressor" and thus be subject to the fair game doctorine). I'm not saying I totally disagree with him, but he actually got all pissed off and acted like he knew what he was talking about. It's almost like you could visibly see L. Ron Hubbard's hand up Cruise's ass making him some scientology puppet. Fuck Tom Cruise. More importantly, fuck scientology.

shit.. he's just some rich guy who has nothing better to do and people actually care about what he does. he is a good actor, thats why he's in his spot. bitching about how much you dont like him just gives him more power, think if someone you didnt give 2 shits about said you were a moron, or you make bad movies. aww you hurt my feelings im gonna speed back to my $15 million mansion in my ferrari and screw my hot mid 20 year old wife. personally i dont care for him at all, but he's done some entertaining(not life changing deep thought out movies, something you can stare at the TV for 2 hrs and be entertained) films. ive read the book, so if it follows the book, the movie would just be a visual aid to the story i already know. i figure with spielburg(sp?) directing it, it should at least be entertaining.

not singling anyone out, just playing devils advocate to everyone who dosnt like him

i have a question that may be a little spoiler. Was it small organisms that killed the aliens(mentioned something about that in the ending) or did they all start dying because tom cruise killed 1 of them?...that part kind of confused me.
