If it wasn't that bad, then have them paint the whole car.

Alot of times shops will run specials (probly that $250) that will be cheaper then doing seprate parts.

I wouldnt ever get anything done by maaco unless I did all the prep work ahead of time (primer, sand, fill, etc). They're not exactly known for great work.
Also, that price seems really high (the 300) I would try a smaller bump-and-paint shop and see what they want. I'm in the most expensive county, outside beverly hills, ca, and I still only paid $3xx for my bumper and fender - without any prep work done by me.

300 seems about right. my momscar got painted by maaco 3 years ago and they did a good job on it. we paid like 400 for the bumper and a quarter panel, but the paint sticks pretty good.

i always heard bad things about Maaco. my cars paint is seriously fading bad now and have been wanting to get it repainted. would you all suggest somewhere like maaco has even decent outcomes?

I'm thinking about maybe just getting the car buffed out a bit see if that brings back the shine

a paint job for the whole car should be in the thousands of dollars. there's no way any crap job from maaco or any other cheap place is gonna look good or last.

A year and a half ago, you say? Then prepare for your paint to start peeling in 3...2...now! Seriously, I've never heard of any one of their cheap jobs lasting more than 2-3 years max. Their prep work is...well...what prep work? I've known a lot of people who've had wicked overspray and/or badges painted over. And how the fuck can they afford to paint the entire car for less than it costs for a few parts? Total bullshit.

they can afford it because the paint is nothing more than hardware store quality with a gallon of thinner per 1/2ounce of actual paint.
It might as well be sugar water w/ food coloring

word, I've never thought I'd want to get a paintjob by a place that it only costs a few hundred dollars.. I always think you get what you pay for.. I'd much rather paint my car myself then bring it to a place like that.. It cost my dad like 5000 to paint his 'vette

if I were you I'd find out the color code to your paint and just order it yourself

ANY good body shop can match any color...it all depends on the eye of the painter. I've got a friend who's a head painter that has matched some ridiculously difficult colors perfectly. And yes, there is such a thing as OEM paint. Car companies order very specific hues from a given paint company so all of their cars come out looking the same in a given color. Then they assign a paint code to it so it's easier to match if the need arises.

This is very true...if you want the whole car to be the same color have it ALL repainted because other-wise when they paint the parts they you wanted done they wont match the rest of the body because of weathering and road salt and such eating paint. What you should do if you want if factory color again just call up the dealer and ask for the paint code and order some if you want it that color. But if you are gonna pay to have the whole thing redone do something custom to it sure it may cost a little more but hey it has to be done anyway
