Decks should be pretty easy to install but it also depends on what it's going into. Usually you need those parts, like dash kits and harnesses to install decks correctly anyways.

yeah i think the $50 for the install sounds right for the dash kit and the harness. the install is free at best buy for anything $100 and up

its a civic so you dont need a dsah kit, and go to wal-mart and get a wiring harness, just match the colors up and plug it in. tools you will need will be wirestripper/crimmpercombonation, and the red wire butt connectors. it is preaty easy i can do one in my in like 5 minutes, but for a novice it should take about a 15-30 minutes

Alpines are nice, but poineers have the best laser in them that is out there, which is why poineer decks are the best.

I'm sorry, but that is a pretty stupid statement. Because they may have the best laser to read CDs, certainly does not make them best. What about THD%, signal/noise ratio, what about watt output, text display, etc etc. Using your logic, a POS with a good laser would be better than the jack of all trades. I wouldn't even claim that my Alpine is the "best"... there is always something better out there, Pioneer certainly isn't the best.

Only thing I think might be better quality wise is eclipse.. but I won't pay the price for those... Pioneers are nice.. but to me ilike the styling and quality of the alpine..

the best bang for your buck is pioneer. eclipse cd players are good, but they also dont like most recored discs. jack of all trades has to alpine. excellent cd player that is too damn expensive is nakamichi

Alright, what i meant was.....if an alpine and a poineer had the exact same features....the poineer would be better because of the laser. For the average joe, it really doesnt matter.

You get what you pay for. Would you have your car painted at maaco because it only costs $99? |

thats different, see cause i install car audio on the side and pioneer decks are one of the best decks you can buy if your on a budget. i will not buy a deck if it is motorized, has a flashy screen or anything just to make it sell. i will only buy a deck that has between 4 and 7 volt preouts. has more than one set of preouts. eventhough i wont buy a pioneer, alpine, eclipse, or any crap like that. i bought a panasonic touchscreen deck with just the basics : 5 volt preamp outputs, front, rear, center, subwoofer, and 2 auxillary outputs, with a built in sirius tuner and add on antenna. this deck alone cost me $500. no on to the paint jobs thing. i actually had my car painted by macco. only after i preped the car all they did was shoot it. i then wet sanded and had it clearcoated. and i will probably be the only one that when and only idf i need my car painted i will go back and them just shoot it after i do the prep and finish work. and for 50 bucks (including paint) they did a preatty good job.

I have had Pioneer, Alpine, Sony, and Kenwood decks. For what my needs and what features I desire, Pioneer had the best to offer.....

by the way, here is my deck....... ![]()
