scratch Q's

last winter my mom and dad went to PA. in the winter.it was snowing and crap up there, so the first nice day my dad took the car to the car wash. well with all the rock-salt on the road some got on the brush he was using, and yea.. scratched the car up. its not down to metal.. it just scratched the clear-coat up a bit..

well she asked me to try to fix it.. so here is my question:

what would be the best wax to use on it? something that would take care of the scratches and give the car the "wet" look..

i need something thats not going to just wash off the next time it rains.. or the next wash.

thanks..
