Longest second of my life...
So, I get in the house and call my brother up before heading out to the weekly car meet...
"Hey Spazzy, what's up? It raining over there?" "No, it's all dry. Dude, there's and R33 down here." "Wha...? I'll bring the camera." Anyway, he wasn't sh*tting me. There was a genuine R33 Skyline GTR there from Garage Advance (a local shop that is quickly establishing themselves). It was beautiful in it's near-perfection. Most everything, except for the wheels, were kept stock. Also, a pair of stage-2 turbo e36 M3's, a few STi's and SRT's, a Z06 Corvette, and enough Silvia-converted 240's to make your mind go numb. So. On the way home, I was cruising with my friends' in their Buick Cenutry (he had a video camera, so I had to f*ck with him) and another kid with a V6 Ranger. So, I was spanking them and let them get ahead, thinking if I did a ricer fly-by, it would look good on tape. So, I peg 2nd, shift at 6200rpm and 64mph into 3rd.... going through third and go to flick it into 4th around 95mph.... and.... BWAM, somehow found 2nd gear instead. It was the worse sound I have ever heard.... I realized my mistake as soon as I let the clutch out but still, it bounced off the rev-limiter for about a second. I threw in the clutch but it wouldn't let me out of 2nd for a few more seconds. Immediately, I was watching my rear-view mirror just waiting for the white-smoke to start pouring it but it never did. So, I stayed off the gas and everything seemed really quiet. As it turns out, seemingly nothing broke (I checked the engine, everything looks visibly OK, I am going to check the plugs and probably pull off the head tomorrow.) But for that breif moment, I thought for sure my engine was toast.... -Ducky \\\ Cliff Notes: Ducky saw a R33 Skyline then proceeded to drop his car in 2nd at 95mph but somehow his engine didn't explode. ///
