there's a lot of ways to blow an engine. when you over-rev, generally, you break something kind of important like connecting rods or wrist pins. that's why ecu's have rev-limitters. as long as you keep your rev limitter where it's supposed to be, and you don't downshift crazy, like into 2nd gear at 90 mph, you should be okay.

Is this a "hypothetical" question?

Not really blowing it, but lack of oil = bad. One night I was driving home from work and part of the road was tore up due to raod construction. I hit a pothole and didn't think much of it. Well the next day while driving around the car just died. Come to find out, hitting the pothole had put a hole in my oil pan and it all leaked out overnight. Like I said, it's not blowing it, but the block did melt together with the rest of the engine. Kinda the same effect.

I spun the bearing because of an oil pump failure.

You're oil light didn't come on?

Ive spun bearings, thrown rods, blown turbos, blown headgaskets, burnt valves, they all cause your car to run like crap, and your wallet to thin out. They also hold up my future mod plans, that sux.
