Man... I feel you. When I was 16, I got caught steeling a car. My life was pretty bad at the time. They were going to lock me up for awhile but my grades in high school were A's and B's. School wasn't really my problem. It was all the influence from my peers that got me in trouble. I didn't realize it at the time but I really needed an ass kicking because I was headed down a path towards disaster. Because I had good grades, the court thought that it wasn't me and that it was the people around me. I left for Fork Union Military Academy for 2 years. Only male. Strict as hell. Shit was horrible at first but there's a certain bond that you develop because everyone else hates it just as much as you do. My school was 4 hours away from my house so I visited home every other weekend. I just started to go out with a girl when I left. It was hard but we stayed together through my freshman year in college. I really don't have an opinion on what you should do. It all really depends on the individual. For me, I think without military school I'd be locked up somewhere. But my situation was pretty bad. Sounds worse than yours. When you go to military school, you have the winter break and summer break off. You can visit home a couple times a month for weekends if you don't mess up and someone's willing to pick you up and drop you back off. Some military schools are coed. Some offer internet access in the barracks (rooms). If you go to military school to get better you are basically trying to get out of your current atmosphere so there will be no peer pressure because you won't have the freedoms you have now like speeding, drinking, etc. Find a more relaxed military school. That's my advice.
