There are cons to the joke forum. As mentioned, the advertising thing. I dunno how much of a problem that really is, but if it's a problem, then it should definitely be addressed accordingly. Also database size limitations. I don't know how much space is really available, but adding new forums could easily increase database size if they get popular. This would only be relevant if the content of the new forums were something that isn't currently posted in any other forum.

About the professional thing....no offense to anybody or anything, but I wouldn't say this site is exceptionally professional. Equally I work in an environment that's supposed to be professional, but it's pretty darn laid back and a lot of stuff slides.

I believe the real question we ought to be asking ourselves with respect to the petition is this: what is the purpose of this site?

If the purpose is to develop an online community, then I don't see too many arguments against the joke forum. If the purpose is to provide an informative site mostly dedicated to Hondas that adheres to some form of professionalism, then a joke forum could easily be considered out-of-place.

So, what is the purpose of this site?
