The Si and LS engines have similar tolerance for boost. The Si benefits from a good R/S, and the LS benefits from stronger rods.
In general, the extra displacement from the 1.8L engines translates to more output from similar modification, including boost- meaning that the power gain from X psi will be greater on the B18 than the B16. |
