The breakdown of a tire size (185/70/14 for instance) is as follows:
The first number (185) is the width in mm (185 mm). The second number (70) is the aspect ratio. Take the 185 and multiply it by 70% to get the sidewall height. (185X.70=129.5mm or approximately 5.1 inches) The third number as you have already stated is the rim diameter (14 inches). |
