Man...if you think Canada's got it bad, come to the states...particularly Cali, Texas, Arizona, or New Mexico. But since I firmly believe that anything you can possibly say has been said better by someone before you, I offer this quote:

While I'm sure many immingrants in this country have good intentions, they must unfortunately be categorized by their worst specimens. Ever time I see some march on TV with people calling Americans gringos (which is just stupid since "guerro" would be a better fit), it just about makes me sick and it damn sure makes me pissed. One hundred years ago millions of people funneled through Ellis Island and asked "what can I do". Now they come here illegally from places like Mexico and Central America and start making demands. Demands that WE change to better suit the conduct of criminals. One key factor is being overlooked here, I feel. People are so desperate to get the hell out of Mexico (and other countries) that they're willing to live here as a criminal and then they've got the balls to protest against the country they've fled to. The break in logic here? They could save a shitload of energy and stay in Mexico and protest to make the changes to the problems that made it so shitty that they had to come here. Mexican pride, my ass. You're so proud that when your country went to shit you up and ran away. So there you have it.
