I like the band... I really don't understand why so many people hate the whole rock genra that is considered (EMMMOOOO)... at least if you are why do people make such a big deal out of it?

They're...ok. Certainly not one of the better bands most people would lump into the emo category. But god damn...that Dance Dance video was hilarious.

Well...if you don't know anything about it, I guess it would look that way. Then again, all kids are idiots and think no one gets them. I also like how people think emo is a "phase" when it's been around for close to 20 years. It just didn't have a name before.

I personally don't like emo because one of the main themes is, as someone from my350z.com put it, "I'm mad at my mommy because she took my ps2 controller away so I'm gonna cut myself for attention." I can't stand people who whine and don't take initiative to better their own position, hence why I dislike emo.

Yeah...that person's just a flat out idiot. Like I said, if you don't listen to it, you won't get it. If you don't get it, you shouldn't complain about it. These days when people hear whiney little bitches on the radio they lump it into emo when most of it is just pop-punk. I really doubt anyone with much in the way of good taste in music could deny that bands like Alkaline Trio, H2O, Thrice, or Taking Back Sunday (their first album, anyway) are great bands that aren't whiney little pussies.

rock out Steve.. You guys have to take into consideration most of the best bands from a genre aren't played on the radio. Hence while I rarely listen to the radio when my iPod is working.

I'll agree there are a few good ones, but they are the exceptions and not the rule... hence the stereotype.

anyone listen to Morrissey? Some say he's the godfather of emo and he's been in some band or another since the 1970's

and I'm a pretty big fan of Fall Out boy, they have great music to rock out to with a few friends in a car..singing at the top of your lungs...god i miss my friends back home
