Karen, I think the costume is cute. It's just one time in the entire year when you can dress up like this [besides your private bedroom with the bf=X] so why not? Idealy, I think it's a little trashy, but if you're good, you can make it look rather cute yet enticing rather than trashy. =]
Keep in mind though, that a lot of times you get treated by the vibe you're supposedly sending out, and this involves looks.
