hmm try to decide with your heart and not with your wallet. and if all else fails, flip a coin.
 j/k but seriously if he is a good man and you will be able to see her on a regular basis as he "close family friend" well then it may be in the best interest of everyone. And when she gets older she will understand that it isn't that you didn't want rather than it wouldn't have worked out as good for everyone.
