I'm not totally sure I agree with you on the whole thing about metal songs have a point. A lot of them (and by that I mean the majority) are projectionism. Nobody in a metal song will ever take responsibility for anything...they're always pissed off at someone or something and blame them for everything. But then again I suppose they're hitting their demographic.
