which intake for my 98hx??
I know there are just a few choices for an intake for my civic. So I have narrowed it down to the INJEN short ram intake or the DC Sports short ram intake. Which would you choose?? Thanking you in advance.

neither get the full cold air AEM V2 or Injen's model of the cold air, dont go short ram at all, if you are going for power and are going to spend the money, spend the extra money and get the real full cold air

i don't want to go cold air intake as i live in a wet climate. don't want to ingest water, and the ambient air here is usually pretty cool already. i might just keep with the oem intake and remove the resonator from behind the r/f headlight.

remove resonator and get a K&N high flow drop-in filter......best bang for the buck.

you'll just have to decide which look you'd like better. you'll get the same performance out of either one, pick up a couple ponies or so. the filters are relatively the same as well as the piping.

If you don't want to suck up water get a bypass valve($50) and go with the CAI. Also even if you live in a wet climate the only way you will suck up water is if you drive through a deep puddle that covers your filter.

i've heard about and seen the air bypass valve, but just can't seem to trust the thing. oh, well, back to the drawing board. Sounds like k&n drop in filter and removing the resonator box is what i'm going to do. I also don't want my car to 'honk' when i take off. I'm also trying to save money and put in a civic Si motor. I don't think that this motor will put me into a different class with my autocross club. Thanks for your input.

comptech icebox is a good way to shell out the bling bling...
id just drop in a k&n though...im back to stock intake on my ride, and i like it a lot better than I did before (anyone want an akimoto sri? its legal and only $50 with a clean filter). If youre looking for 1/4 hp take off the resonator of the stock box as well |
