ummm, about the only drain plugs that are magnetic go in transmissions or differentials as they are the only ones that endure enough mechnical wear to need something to collect the bits and pieces. bearing material(which is what you normally find in oil) is non magnetic. Pistons are made of alumnium so they also are non-magnetic. now if you are getting enough debris in a filter to use the "filter-mag" then you should be looking for a severe mechanical failure.

there was a lot of sarcasm in this post but the truth is, these things don't work.
