They are plastic - just kiddin.

I always was under the impression they wern't as good:
2 reasons.

Metal is a superior material (stronger, more durable). Metal intakes do not get as hot as plastic ones do.

just for the record, i feel all intakes are over - rated although they do make a small/relitively insignificant increase in power.
