i guess it really depends upon how everything is going with the chemistry. I have been with girls where I didn't get my first kiss for a long time, and others where we did everything you could do within the first week. My personal experiences point towards taking things slow, when I have moved too fast, it would end . The problem being a guy is that it is really hard to take things slow if you have the opportunity to put it on cruise control and go all the way. I was once able to resist a girl for three days, my friends gave me mad props for holding out that long while the girls I know all said that I was just a normal horny guy...girls just don't understand.
