They key is to ask a question. This way its almost as if you HAD to talk to her, not because you like her or are trying to pick her up. Also, it will be a basic question (like, where is a certain store) so she will know the answer and feel both smart and comfortable already. Depending on her answer you can take the conversation from there!

So what you're saying is that when I meet a girl in a club I should walk up to her and ask her where the closest 7-11 is...?
