Yeah but he said "higher octane than required." If your car was designed to run 91 octane, then 91 or 94 will definitely be superior to 87. My car was designed to comfortably run on 87, I don't get any better performance out of mid or premium.

Using a gas with less detergents than companies such as Exxon and Chevron will increase your performance. Over the long run Exxon or Chevron will keep your engine cleaner....but if you wanna tear ass around town on any given day they're not giving you peak performance.
