Cool looking bottles - the highlighter trick

ok..i can't do it..when u say CRACK a highlighter in them? do u mean cut open like a felt marker and take the ink foamy thing out and throw it in the bottle? I tried it with an orange bottle and ranined the fluied into it..turned out kida wierd...
