I'd have to hear the actual conversation between the teacher and the student to judge that one...
If he was just a prick about it and never said he was on with his mom overseas then it's justified... But if he said clearly first that he was on with him mom in iraq then it's just rediculous... Schools got too caught up in the "zero tolerance" craze... it's a stupid policy.
