I remember when I was in high school and all of the bullshit rules I had to put up with. This trumps all of that easily.

Yep, schools are turning into dictatorial shits. My school received a 6 (out of ten) on the API rankings, and my principal is still worried about sending ppl home bcuz of no uniform instead of improving our academics..what a dam idiot.

I'd have to hear the actual conversation between the teacher and the student to judge that one...

If he was just a prick about it and never said he was on with his mom overseas then it's justified...

But if he said clearly first that he was on with him mom in iraq then it's just rediculous...

Schools got too caught up in the "zero tolerance" craze... it's a stupid policy.
