Haha! I thought the motor looked weird in it's operation, too. Even after watching the video I was curious how they could get it to run about 5 times leaner than stoichiometric.

they make it sound like its revolutionary when actually mitsubishi has had cars with GDI engines for years. Although i'd be surprised if we see any of these i-vtec I engines around here because of the low quality gas we have.
Although it's be sweet if they had a k20a2 that was equipped with it

actually motortrend on this this pasts issue. that a/f ratio is nox free. and i think the timing of the fuel injector is just a few moments before ignition. i don't think air alone will detonate even when compressed as hell. vw/audi does the same thing too with their new engines right now. they are even in production
