internal mods?
Hey guys need some imput on what internal mods I can start picking up to help push psi to 10-15, if you guys or girls have ideas let me know please thanks a lot.
well you could choose a set of new rods and pistons. that will help along w/ getting lower compression pistons that will help for the increased boost. Check out www.raceeng.com
Sweet thanks, I will look into them,
yea get pistons and rods.....Check for eagle rods that is what everyone one is using.
i check that site got good stuff, i hear thAT A thicker gasket is works too, true or false
thicker gasket for lower compression a little bit, yeah.
Check out JE Pistons, or Arias Pistons
Eagle forged rods, SRP forged pistons w/ MLS high boost gasket works well together.
what engine?
If it's for a d16 there's a dude over on honda-tech that sells a nice combo that lets you run around that boost with no other mods (besides fuel obviously) you have to notch the block but you have to do that with any rod that I know of. http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=267641 It's a good package. |
Ok so pistons & rods and a thicker gasket, ok I will start looking into them start picking them up and really get ready fot next summer thank, any other ideas let me know, turboD16 sweer
you dont need a thicker head gasket. the pistons you get will come in different compression ratios. 9:1 would be fine.
so you cant do thicker casket and pistons i dont understand, thanks

exactly What's the point of modifying the internals with low compression pistons and turn around get a thicker head gasket. Pointless to me. Drop the compression to whatever you like (I prefer 9.5:1) then get a stock Honda spec Cometic head gasket. You will run into timing problems on thicker head gasket since the cam will be off. It's fixable by a few ways tho, the most common is using an adjustable cam gear. D-series turbos makes a lot of torque because of long stroke. If you bore the cylinders out, be ready to sleeve it. Goodluck Next time, please ask these types of question on the turbo forum where it belongs. |
ok no thicker gasket , thanks guy
i agree 9.5:1 is better.
endyne makes some nice pistons(well they just modify custom wisecos) |
