Just wondering before i buy this kit from AutoLoc. What pound should I get for my 92 civic? Also are these kits easy to install or should I get them done?

Well...I bought a 10lb kit that wouldnt even pop my hood. 40lb solenoids are said to be needed for doors (I said "F**k it" and bought the 40lber for my hood latch)
I contacted autolok about their "kits" which turns out are ONLY solenoids, no wires or anything included. I went with a SPAL kit that has wires, fuse, directions, harnesses, looms, etc for like $35 off ebay. All you need to do is connect the lock lever to the solenoid...thats it. If you have a hard time finding the lever in the door OR dont feel like doing all the work of removing the panels and such/wiring get it done. I dont think its hard...just a pain in the ass |

Thanks a lot. I am glad you told me about the autoloc kit because i was just about to buy one. This might sound dumb but are the door panels with the arm rest etc the only panels that can be romoved. Because my buddy told me that you can remove the metal panel that covers the glass and hold on the panel. Not sure if it makes sense but I thought it would be worth a shot. Thanks

Yeah, you probably do...Ive actually never looked at the door latch mech.
You need to get to the latch and be able to pull it w/ a cable, and it is covered by that metal sheet and the window parts |
