accord vs.prelude

my 91 accord lx vs. 91 preludei pulled up to this light where most of the racing goes on where i live and i heard some one revingi looked next to me and it was a 91 lude i new the guy and i new he wanted to race so i prepared to launch my car and we took off and i hung with him until he hit 5thi forgot to mention that i have an automatic so i only have 4 gears so that kind of explains it so there it is how i got my a$$ handed to me.

No nothing. He said "cause that might of helpped you out a bit"
So he's just commenting that it's a good thing!

Good job!

My old 89 si 4ws was slow as balls! If it was a 91 si, it had the B21A1 engine with 2.1L's and 140hp. The only thing I ever beat in my 89 was a 97 V-6 Dodge Avenger(so you know those things are slow) The B21 had massive oil issues. It's too bad you have an auto otherwise you would have destroyed him. My friend had a 91 Accord 5 spd. that we raced a long time ago. We were almost dead even until 5th when he just WALKED on me. I barely ran into the 16's with my Lude.

Nice story.....don't worry about losing him in 5th, it's not your fault, it's just that you don't have a 5th gear and he does!

The race is usually over by 3rd gear anyway, that will most of the time decide who will win, if your ahead in 3rd gear, don't worry too much about top speed or anything.

I've hung with Pontiac Ram-Airs until 3rd gear, at which time he pulled ahead, but those things aren't too quick anyway....I bet I could hang with those even more closely now that I have more done with my engine.
