its your average mutated Flu virus...same thing happens every 7yrs or so...we just decided to name this one

no, it didnt come from a monkey like in Outbreak...

Stupid people thinking that you can stop a virus...when its impossible...its not "living". People always thinking that taking a damn antibiotic for a cold...we've relied so long on the same medical "technology" of "bacteria in a bottle" and now that things have mutated to the point where they dont do anything...we all suffer...stupid science...

edit**If you cant tell, I am pissed about this...have been for yrs

I wouldnt be surprised if its just a resistant strain of flu or similar virus, that came about from too many people taking anti biotics when they have a runny nose.

EDIT* I love it when I post the same time someone else does! he he!

Well i believe it came over the asia and it might be a man made virus. Seems it spread just about the time the US started to bomb iraq. Well i dunno if i believe the man made thing, i've been hearing alot of it lately in some debates.

Just think about it, very hard to detect, untreatable and lives 3 times longer then any other virus while outside a host. Just makes you think.

But I wouldn't be to worried its all over Toronto, I think we've had 19 deaths from it now. Someone brought it over here from asia and all hell broke lose. Well I'm still fine and I haven't stopped living my life, so no worries.

*ahem* People taking antibiotics to treat colds do not create a mutated virus, they creates a mutated or resistant bacteria, just like using antibiotic soaps, etc. Now if it were the overprescription of antiviral soaps and medicines, then that's a different story.

It very possibly could be man made since it is only a couple of genes off from more common viruses, and I mean litereally only a couple. The scientists said it would be pretty easy to create this virus from the more common one.....then again, parts of China are perfect conditions for the mutations of viruses and bacteria, it's not that uncommon for new strains to originate from the same region as they have previously. Of course knowing that it's a perfect place to "drop off" a viral bomb....because it could look natural.

Chances are the world will never know.....

I've been reading all sorts of articles on SARS when I come across them. One thing that was shocking to me is that experts in China are saying that SARS has yet to peak. Beijing has obviously had it the worse. And then on the radio this morning I heard that they are now thinking that dogs and cats can carry it and the pets have to be quarantined or they are asking that the animals may be put to death.
