is this a good choice for moderate hp gains ?
i am just getting into the car performance seen so i dont know a whole lot about it . this is what i was thinking of getting for my civic lx . iceman cold air intake , headers not sure which brand probably either 5zigen or dc . cat back exaust not sure which brand but i am thinking 5zigen . how much horse power can i should i gain from these parts . i would be happy if i could get an extra 20 hp out of these . in the future i was thinking of also adding a supercharger . would i have to do anything to the stock engine to support the supercharger or can i just install it . also if anyone gan give me ideas of how to get from 108 hp to 150 hp the cheapest route besides nitrous that would be really cool . thanks alot .

civic lx = D16Y7 = 106hp = not very fast.
to tell you the truth, instead of getting a JRSC, id save my money and swap engines - considering how you say you want more power. and a JRSC isnt going to give you worthwhile power for its price on a D16Y7. however if you are set on keeping your engine. AEM CAI, Kamikaze header (better for FI than a DC unit), and a tanabe RM or an HKS unit. i dont suggest the 5Zigen Fireball exhaust due to the fact its form over function. it goes OVER the rear LCA and is at an angle - unnecessary bends = performance restricting. however, if i were you, id save my money - get an exhaust and just some other non engine oriented stuff. and then go with a B series motor swap. |

I would go for the swap you should be about to get one for like under 2500 for everything But I would find a good trust worthy shop before I just wen't out and buy from who ever. But good luck with that.

ya i will deffinitly shop around before i go out and buy . is there any way i can get a new 2002 engine . i would like to go with a new engine if at all possible because my engine now has fairly low miles and it wouldnt seem worth the money if i got a different engine with higher miles .
