Why the crap is my paint fading?
I brought a used car for HS with some fading paint on the top and the hood, and now its spreading. Is there anything I can do to patch it up with out paying several hundred dollars?

Early 90's, I'm guessing? A lot of car companies were experimenting with water-based paints that were friendlier to the enviroment, but didn't stay on the car too well. Go check out a 1993 RX7, for example, or a 90 - 94 Nissan 300ZX. So much orange peel it needs Rogaine to stop the damage, and regrow old bald spots.
