Think you've got what it takes to be Chief?

So... you think you've got the skillz to be an admin?

well BE ONE!

http://www.vbulletin.com/admindemo/

This is the official demo for vbulletin which is what our forum runs on.

The admin username and password is admin/admin.

The admin panel can be accessed through this url:
http://www.vbulletin.com/admindemo/admin/

Play around. Add some forums change some ranks... its all good

I just spent about an hour messing around with it. Pretty sweet.

care to teach a class? or should i take it from the master?

the arrangement of the forums and member/mod stuff is really easy. its the backing up and loading files and formatting the appearance thats baking my noodle. all the backend stuff i guess is what it's called.

vbulletin is only 85 a year and service for a low traffic forum is as cheap as 20-30 bucks a month... i might just check it out when i get a little cash.

how hard are the custom hacks to put in? i figure its cut and paste like inserting javascript.

Max

Okay, you guys are kinda freakin me out now

Actually vBulletin rocks. There is no other forums software that is it's equal. The hacks are fairly easy to install, but the downside of that is when there are updates and you have to upload the files again (which is quite often) - that also means that you have to reinstall all your hacks - which can be rather time consuming.

It takes a bit of trial and error to customise it, but it's all good.
