exhaust advice 92 civic LX

I need to get a new exhaust on my car because the old one has a hole in the muffler and the center pipe has maybe two months left. i don't want to take it to midas or car-x or anything because i don't want to pay someone else to do something that i can do.

does anyone have any advice on a good cat-back exhaust system for civics? i haven't done any mods as of yet, but if i get a better exhaust i'll probably do an intake and bump up the fuel pressure a notch.
also, i would like to keep the whole exhaust under 300 dollars....
and i don't want something so loud it drones out my audio system

thanks alot for you help

Hmmm..... not too sure how much you can pick up a nice cat back for, but check into Magnaflow, Borla, Greddy... I heard really bad things about pacesetter, stay away from them,

Also for three hundred bucks you can pick up a nice performance muffler and have Midas bend the pipe and put it all on . Personaly I think that's a better route, It's a little cheaper, you get a better muffler selection and I dont think anyone has ever dyno proven any decent HP gains out of an expensive CatBack system.

Well let us know !

thanks for your input
do you have any idea how much it would cost to have midas custom bend pipes? seams to me like that would be more than a prefab kit for a civic?

has anyone done something like this?
if so i'd love to hear how much it cost and how it's working out for you

thanks
Sean
