disk brake conversion
Hey, I was thinking of putting the 94 accord ex rear disc brakes on my 94 accord lx. Is this worth it? or are there other better options than this? thanx for any help

well heres what you have to determine....
first off... performance wise it'll do practically nothing.. since 80% of your braking power is in the front (thus a big brake upgrade kit is useful) secondly if the car is being used for show purposes then it would be nice to have them on.. judges always pick up on that stuff.... the conversion is not too bad in price (between 500-1000 CDn) but IMO if the car is not heavy modified exterior wise... its not at all nessesary... |

yeh that makes sense, thanx. I was just wondering all this because i wasn't sure if the accord brakes will handle the 200Hp prelude motor as good. do you think it will handle it? or will i defiently need teh big brake kit

you'll be fine with it.. altho if you do some track track racing (not drag) then its a wicked feature to have if you want to stop pretty quick.....
im in the process of getting the motor swap and installing a 13" big brake kit that composes of 4 calipers instead of the stock 2.... now i'll be able to stop in half the time.... theres no significant diff between the accord and prelude front brakes... both are almost the same... the power output wont play a factor at all |
