Think we need a little more details...
Loved someone, no. Love is a very strong word for me. I've ever only used it once, and that's before i knew what the word really meant. I haven't told anyone since, even though sometimes i wish i would have.

I think it is possible. I loved my "now" husband before I ever met him. I did, however, see his picture so I knew what he looked like. (note: we met in a chat room) So after 6 years together and 2 of them being married....I'd say don't count out anything!

If you can use the word love towards a person that you've never met then i'm going to assume that you don't know the true meaning of the word, or you don't understand the true power of that word.
Maybe it's possible, maybe you can get lucky like LadySI and actually have it work out. But from what I've been through that word is sacred and is used very very lightly, if at all.

I agree with you too, ShagginJet but it can happen...just be careful...this is your heart/feeling we're talking about...Only you can let someone hurt you!

yep i'm the same..... But there are different types of love though. Like I love my girls, but not in a romantic sense. Love 'em like family....same with my close guy friends. I love them to death, but again not in the romantic sense of the word. It's a deep care and fondness for those people. So yes i could see "loving" someone you've never met from the computer, but definitely not in the romantic meaning of the word. I think to feel romantic love, you have to physically be around that person.

I can say yes and know. I once met a girl and we went quite awhile without talking until one day I got an IM from her and we just started talking. So I guess I kinda knew her already, but I didn't really come to care for her until after we talked online at great length.

to me love is being able to put my full trust in someone and not be afraid of being hurt in any way and being ready to put yourself in harms way to protect them. so I would have to say no. i think you need to really get to know someone before you should even consider saying whether you love them or not. of course everyone's opinion is different so you have to go with what you feel

I think Anna is a little too young and nieve to really understand love and it's true meaning. No offense Anna.
I use to use the word freely and thought i knew what it meant. Not till I'd been through several relationships, good and bad, did i really get and understanding of the word. That's why it's now in my sacred word list, it's something I don't plan on using for a while. Also, just because someone says they love you doesn't mean you have to say the same back. I've actually had to sit down an explain myself to a gal because she said that and i didn't reply with the same. That was very hard cause I liked her a lot, things worked out in the end anyways. We broke up, she became suicidal, found a new b/f and hopefully is now making him miserable....
