Performance Upgrades 2001 Civic
I'm trying to brain storm some ideas. Other than a turbo what else should I do to the engine. I got a exhaust and intake going in soon. You think the ex engine is a good platform, or should I put some money into a VTEC and pop that in? I'm still trying to figure out if I should do a swap. I won't list what I got in min yet, I wanna see what some of guys comeup with.

If its not an ex engine i wouldn't waste my time with it. I have seen some pretty quick ex engines.
If i were you i would go ahead and do a swap for a b16 or b18, then later on boost it. |

oh, bah. I thought he ahd a 2000. As far as i know, there are no mounts aviable that will allow a b series to fit into those year civics.....ingore my previous post.
As far as engine swaps, you only have two choices, the k20, or what ever is in the 2002 si. The si engine sucks, and the k20 is like 5k. You may very well be better off boosting the piss out of you current engine. |

drdingo21, not to start any flames or anything, but I am curious as to why you think the si engines, k20a3 suck? I have an 03 si and to me it's great. Even though right now it doesn't have the greatest aftermarket support I think in a year or two it will be kicking some serious ass.
