if you could tell honda...

if you could write a list of stuff that honda should have done differently on your car for the quality not performance, (dont say different engines, or more power, or different styling) what would you say?

me, i'd say to not use brass syncro's in the tranny, use a hydro tranny for a prelude, ave the power window switches have better connections (my passenger one is dying, not to motor, it works fine from my side), coat the sunroof in primer before install and not leave bare metal on the under side of it (mines rusting) have the damn memory button on my seat actualy work, better cup holder cover design. use better rubber for CV joints, the stuff they use sux. i know i'll think of more, oh, i dunno if this follows my rules, but a prelude looks like it should be RWD. it would be a sports car if they had it RWD...

here is my list:

use better window tracks( drivers window on mine jumps off the track everytime i use it)
put the damn cupholder some place else ( everytime i smoke i have to hold the drinks between my legs)
undercoat the car (rust issues)
make a better shifting tranny
do something about the front window so it won't fog with the first drop of rain
and don't make any 4 door 2 seaters

Man, some of these requests really surprised me. I haven't had any problems at all, and mine is 5 yrs old with 100,000 mi (almost). Here's my list:

1. Don't let the cruise control slow down 5 mph when you turn it on. What the hell is that!!!??
2. Put variable speed intermitent wipers on the darn thing.
3. Put the water pump somewhere else so the crank pulley doesn't have to be removed to change the water pump. Stupid!
4. More low end torque. Couldn't resist.

- double seal the windows so i can get the car washed and open and close my window without it getting all wet (euro style)
-get my high end car to shift better
-give me a little room in my engine bay (i have none)
-3 memorykeys not 2... somepeople have 3 people driving their car
-keep the revs down... my car is close to 3k rpm @70mph. but on domestics i see its more around 2.2k (wtf?)

All i gotta say is move the cup holder back some and make it stronger/bigger.
That little pop-up cup holder doesn't make the cut in my book.

Move the Cup Holder Back, and give it a better design
dont produce anything that looks like the back end of the 96-98 hatches anymore or ill gag myself...

- Stop using red turn signals on the rear....amber is much better.

- HIDs baby!

- Better paint, it chips/bubbles too easily.

- Stronger electrical systems, even stock I can see the interior lights dim slightly at idle (at night) and having the stock stereo on a relatively low volume.

- Better noise deadening, both road noise and wind/traffic noise.

- RWD

- More matte finish on the dash, similar to VW

- CV boots, but that's already been mentioned.

- Better transmission & clutch. After driving an A4 for a little while, it just sucks going back to the Honda.

- Better salespeople at the dealers....haha, couldn't resist.

Make a cup holder that's usuable. I can't set anything in it without fear of it tipping over. Its pathetic.
Other than that, its an econ-o-box what'd ya expect?

damn 3k, thats pretty nice, at 85-90 im around 4.5k rpms remember domestics idle lower cause they have a lower redline. 2.2k might be almost half. at 70mph im around 3500, but i can over double that (and speed for that matter )
