New Shortblock
So my shortblock has about 113K on it, and I think my piston rings are going. Rather than just replace those, I think I'm gonna get a whole new shortblock, build it, and swap it out.
The plan: Eagle Rods 13:1 Wiseco pistons from ImportBuilders Bored/Sleeved to 85 (86?)mm Keep everything else- including my B18A head- I hate LS/VTEC with a passion. Eventually, maybe P/P the head and intake manifold and a bored throttle body. Questions? Comments? Criticisms? |

I'd say maybe 140-150 to the wheels. If I wanted to go crazy, I could probably swap camshafts. But, for now, the plan is a very basic and reliable rebuild, with as much kick as possible.

13:1 compression pistons are very high for pump gas. I don't know about import builder's prices, so you might want to check out this place too www.exospeed.com , just a thought

13:1 isn't high for a mile above sea level.
Anyways, I'd like to give any and all business to Jeff Schaefer. In addition, IB's pistons aren't shelved- they do work them over a little. I specifiaclly want ImportBuilders pistons, not just any old Wiseco, and not just because of Jeff. |
