Got yet another new job!
Hopefully I'll keep this one! Its working at a local pizza place. A friend of mine works there and says its cool, so I walked in filled out an app, and got an interview immediatly. I start today at 5. I hope I dont mess up. I even went as far as to take ginko biloba (remember that stuff a few years back?) so I'll remember things better.

Don't let the interview freak you out. Remember that they're looking for someone who (1) meets the most basic of job requirements, (2) seems like someone other folks can get along with and (3) won't burn the place down. So if you just be friendly and be yourself (unless those two don't coincide), know something about the job and company before you walk in (and show off that knowledge) and don't say anything freaky (gauge your audience - not a time for dirty jokes) you should have a good chance at any job you're mostly-qualified for.

Shh...GB works if I THINK it works....yeah well youre right.
My first day went well I think. I'll be making the pizzas, and its really not too hard. Just have to remember the shorthand for orders (S=sausage, Pin=pinapple, etc.) They're all nice people. I'm not getting many hours yet, but the mngr says he'll give me a full schedule next week. Yay! As for interviews mylittlecivic, heres my advice: - dress well when getting applications. Just look decent, because you never know who you'll be talking to. We used to have people come into the theater wanting applications and I've almost laughed. If you dont dress well, thats already a strike against you. - fill out the application completly. If they make you fill it out on location, make sure you have your SS number, previous job info, education info, adresses, phone numbers, references, etc. etc. - availablity is always important. Indicate the days you CAN work. It doesnt mean you'll be working every day. During the interview say you would prefer having this day off every now and then for x-purpose. If you do sports, make sure you mention that. - dress for the interview. If its an office type job, dress exceptionally well. If its a lower type job (retail, customer service), still look nice, but dont overdress. - introduce yourself. Try to remember the interviewers name. Be friendly, but dont talk a lot. Answer questions well, but think about your answer. - come with a list of questions written down to ask him/her. What are the kind of hours I can expect? Where do I normally park? How much time in advance should I give for time off? What is the dress code? Hair and grooming?<-(usually for guys) ask these questions after he is done talking, when he says "do you have any questions for me?" - when the interview is over, dont be the first to stand up. After he stands, then you stand. Give a good handshake, a smile, and a thanks for your time. Make sure he has your number to contact you. thats all I can think of right now. |

If that doesn't work....1) get down on your knees 2) clasp your hands together and place them just infront of your chest 3) begin to beg
