What I saw last night and what to do? (kinda long)
Ok, so I'm gettin ready for bed around 1am last night/this morning and I hear a weird sound. My roommate had just gotten in recently so I figured it was just him, although I couldn't figure out what he woulda done that woulda made the sound. Sounded kinda like metal falling and hitting metal or something.
So I'm about to get into bed and decide to look out the window....I notice that the wind is blowing a little and the clouds are hauling some major ass across the sky lit by the very bright moon, looked pretty cool....and I hear some talking. I look around and don't see anybody, then I begin to hear a long string of f*cks....I look to the left, which happens to be toward the road by my complex and there is a white Explorer up on the curb and a piece of the fence around the complex is kinda, well, not in place. There is a full size black pickup, either Ford or Chevy, there and about 6-8 guys standing around yelling f*ck. They all pile into the pickup and just leave the Explorer and drive to the next turnoff, one guy gets out of the pickup and begins walking back toward the Explorer while the pickup leaves. He walks back yelling f*ck all the way to the car, roots around in the car for a minute then runs away across the street. About 3 minutes later a tow truck arrives on the scene followed by a sport ute of some kind, pretty boxy and not too big, not sure which kind, but it's got the nasty green windshield washer nozzles all lit up....there's 2-3 guys in that one. About a minute later the cops are on the scene, then they dig around in the car for a while, I get bored and go to bed. Anyhow.....so that's the setup. Now what I'm thinking might have happened, and it's a big might, is this: Drunk driver runs off the road and crashes into a fence. They panic and don't want to get busted so they call and find a buddy of theirs who lives nearby who's sober to take the heat. They all get away from the scene and send one guy back to get the booze out of the car, then he splits the scene since the cops aren't there yet. They get a towtruck on the scene and get the sober buddy over there before the cops arrive and make up a quick story of why he ran off the road. They frame it to look like the sober guy had a legitimate reason to drive off the road so nobody gets in trouble with the pigglywigglies, then it just becomes an insurance problem. Now if that's the case, I'd like to see the drunk driver fry....I have 0 tolerance for drunk driving. Of course there are many many other possibilities....such as the guy who went back to the car just needed to get something out and ran to a buddy's house nearby to make a call.....I dunno. So my question is....should I call up the local PD or make a trip over there today and volunteer any information I may have to ensure that they get a more complete picture of what went on? Or do I just forget about it and keep my nose out of others' business? b |

The Explorer looked like it only suffered some minor damage on the FR fender, but didn't look like any people were injured.
Maybe I'll give them a call or drop by later. b |

make it a call, its better then showing up and telling the person at the front desk that you saw somethign go down last night (insert area here) and the gang member be waiting for the officer in charge.
I would call it in to protect yourself from what you dont know m8 |
