5w or 10w
Hey, I brought my civic back in Nov. and I am about to change the oil. On my oil cap it says 5w, but I thought that is only if you live in places like Alaska. If i put 10w when it asks for 5, will it screw it up? I live in CT where it can get cold but i dont think i need 5w. Also I will be putting synthetic in my car. what do you suggest.
thanx |

I suggest 5w 30 until your engine starts to get higher mileage. Honda actually recommends the use of 5w 30. How many miles does your car have?

If it says 5w, put 5w in it. It's there for a reason.
Mine required 5W-20. Weird... |
