your advice.
I've come to that point in my life.. where I start to question the extent that I 'modify' this car, if you will. To start off, I have a LX sedan... Well.. 'nuff said. I cant make this car nearly as fast as I'd llike too, and It would definately fit under the category of "all show, and no go."
I was thinking... should I continue to dump more and more money into suspension, exhaust, body-kit, and a swap (in about a year and a half..), or save my money, sell my car in about a year or so, and go out looking for something faster? I had my heart set on a JDM Teg' R a little while ago, and honestly made me "uber" depressed when I could not get it. When next year rolls around.. I should have.. around.... oh I dunno... 16-17 G's? This time I'd be looking for a nice blend of speed, style, and name (JDM TEGGY TYPE R :( :( :( ) |

get a late 80's mustang...
this question has SUCH a simple answer.. how much do you like your car? if you like it FORGET all that crap and just save for a swap.. they are NOT that much..and pretty easy to do... buy a differant car if thats what you want.... you want a jdm typer? whats teh problem... get a usdm gsr/ls and mod it to look like a jdm r it will still be rhd but who cares... the look IS god.. |

16-17gs.. theres a 1990 JDM RHD Fairlady 300ZX for sale here for 6100, not licensed with some minor front end damage
6100!! you could license it, fix the front end, ugrade the turbos, front mount intercooler.. and then roll around in the extra 7 g's...

yea, theres only so much we can do to our civics. they already come with a rediculously low amount of HP (a laughable 115 for dx/lx models) that already handicapps the process of making up for it. but if you are into the whole show thing, theres no better a car. just because theres so much to do cosmetically, but so little you can do to get your cars HP up to par when it comes to racing.if you are really bent on more speed, save some cash sell the civic and look into that teggy. you can do quite a bit to those cosmetically as well. some choose to keep the stock looks. if you ever find it feasible to get a NSX, hellaa. ill come up there and steal it from you

well if I were you I'd keep the lx and drop a b18 or even a 16 into it, make it a total sleeper. rollin 4 deep but power to the wheels when you want it, the apps for those are truely great.
But its your call, the jdm teg is nice and I would love one of those too...more than any civic... |

sigh.. all good points..... I've always wanted a 300zx..
I want to stand out in the crowd of imports, and RHD cars always seem to do that. If that Type R had been USDM, I wouldnt've cared much.. but since it was an authentic jdm vehicle.... I almost died :\ sigh. any other suggestions for cars around that price? I think my dad will lend me about 5-6 G's on top of that. (If I do well in school .. haha)

are you sure that you would want to stay in the import market?...if you sell I mean. I mean it really goes against everything I believe in to say it but the newer cavaliers arent that bad (not the 03 : ones but 00-02 are alright). Kid down the road from me owns one and its nice inside and is pretty fast too.

i love the stylin' of 6th gen civic...it just defines what a car should look like..as far as speed goes..well an engine swap should do you good, get a torquey h22 and kick run over mustangs (or run circles around 'em ) insurance would prolly be cheaper too, compared to gettin' an actual "sports car" like the ZX..

See how much used WRX's are in a year or whenever you're ready. Cause it sounds like if you save up $15k$17k, and if your Dad gives you $$...you might be able to afford one of those. I think WRX's are tight
