Got all new alarm system, now to install...
I received my pager alarm system. It is VERY small, but cool looking. I have another alarm (used) that I'm installing first, but with no instructions. I've figured out a few things, I've got the ground wires, battery wire, siren, and door sensors. But after that I have no idea. Heres a few questions I need answers to:
(this is an older 1992 Alpine alarm system) What are brown wires usually? White wires that are not sensors? parking light flashers? |

Okay, I installed the alpine alarm, and it works great. Still don't know what some of the wires are, but I'll just have to test them. Now I have another problem:
I HAVE NO IDEA HOW THE PAGER THING WORKS! The instructions sound like they were written by a two year old, and I dont understand these pinouts. They are like: green = door sensor (+) purple = door sensor (-) gray = trunk pin (-) Wtf is this negative business??!!, do they want me to ground the negative? That wouldn't make any sense, how would the trunk work? I tried putting all the sensor wires together with my other alarm, and it just goes off with the doors closed. I don't get it! help! |

I would think that the "-" means when the switch is closed it provides a ground
