too confused
My name is Jon and I have a problem.
Well I'll start by saying that I am a Marine and ride a 2000 Yamaha R1. My problem is not that I can't find females to date. My problem is they are all under 17, over 30, beligerent alcoholics, or just plain don't have the same ideals or morals as me. But I admit, I am pretty conservative, especially for Southern Cali. Is it too much to ask for someone my age that doesn't get drunk every night and has morals that are somewhat similar to mine? I just don't understand why I can't seem to meet anyone that I really like. Hell, all of my friends are already married and some have kids, I've never even had a serious relationship! I am totally lost. J

Well from my experience (which really isn't all that much), when asking a girl how old she is when she looks about your age and you get the reply, "How old do you think I am?" Guess somewhere in the vicinity of 16 because that is probably what she is. When I get the reply of how old do you think I am now basically I see the scene of Disco Stu from the Simpsons singing, "Back away, not today, disco lady." Yeah that's dorky, I know.
As far as the morals are concerned, my first opinion would be to move to west michigan. But that's rather drastic and I wouldn't wish that on anyone. We have but two seasons here, winter and construction. Second opinion would be to just change the locations where you meet women. If you don't want booze hounds or 30 year old mothers looking for someone to stick their hooks into, don't meet women at a bar. Maybe try the gym or something of that nature. Really just change your approach, that's what I'm trying. I'm basically in the exact same boat as you are. Nice to know I'm not the only one. |

Well it's not that easy for us girls either to meet nice MEN (not boys cuz that's all I seem to find no matter how old they are) that aren't old enough to be our fathers. But I just figure that I'm only 23, and yah some of my friends are already married too....but I still have a long life ahead of me and to tell ya the truth, I don't think I'm ready to be settled down. There's a lot of things I want to do yet before I get married and start a family. I'm too selfish for that right now in my life. Just hang in there you'll find the right girl. And if you don't....it's not the end of the world.

well then here is my next question. how do you know if a woman is just out, or is out looking? my friend was telling me something about if they have a heart ring on and it is facing one way it means they are taken, but if it is facing the other way it means they are single? would someone please explain to me why women are soooooo confusing?

Uhhh....I don't think there is a comprehensible explanation for the question you ask. I'd love the ability to know if a girl is just out, out looking, is single, not single, not out looking but open to the possibility of meeting people, etc. When lacking in confidence, it's difficult to pick yourself up after trying to strike up a convo and getting blown off like you're an asshole just for trying to talk to her because she's either a total b*tch or just doesn't want to be bothered. That just pisses me off when I see that happen or have it happen to me.....bad apples, kick 'em outta the bunch. b |

Look man...a conservative in any part of California is about as common as a mormon chick who'll go all the way on prom night. You've narrowed down the field and seem to have a good idea of what you want...now it's up to you to go find it. It might be difficult (unless you give up and become a love vulture) but who said anything about finding decent people to kick it with being easy? Just steer clear of Susie Rottencrotch (don't lie...every base has one).

This is a true story. I will leave out names to protect the parties involved. Our base has a couple Susie's. They get on base, come to the barracks, and knock on doors saying, "Hi. Wanna party?" The get told no and then move to the next door. They get the same answer and move to the third door. There they get a yes. They go inside get a little drunk and "party." Then they leave and go to the next door and say, "Hi. Wanna party?" That actually happened to one of my friends. It was the topic of discussion for about 2 months. We still haven't let him live it down though.
