you'll most probaly need a camber kit..

It isnt wise to do it 2 steps, since you'll be paying for labour twice.. Get everything and install in one shot.

You might last, but I wouldn't recommend trying. You'll most likely need a camber kit, but only an alignment will tell.

You need *dampers* (shock absorbers), springs, and a camber kit.

I wouldn't buy the camber kit until you know you need it. Do the struts, go get an alignment - if they can't get camber close to factory spec, then you'll need the alignment kit. Or buy it from somewhere you can return it to if you end up not needing it.

Get the shop manual, and do the work yourself. It's a pretty easy job, you save a bundle of money, and if you do springs only the first time you'll be able to do it much quicker the 2nd time to put the dampers on.

I know people that have used those springs on civics and they didnt need camber kits. It just depends on the car.

I would wait too.

I was quoted by a local shop - $100 w/o alignment to install coilovers.

do the coilovers come with a upper spring seat and bushings ? that will save half the time not needing to dissasemble the strut assembly and reuse the spring seatss.

Not usually.. Unless you go with something like a pillow mount. Then I think youll be ok, but Im not 100% sure about that.

$300 is insane. We (my friends and I) did all of our suspension work. Other then when the bolt froze and I had to take them up to get them drilled out. But even that only cost me about 50$. I would look else where beside a Honda dealer to do it. They love to rape you with labor.

As for going for a week without a camber kit. You should be ok.

No, they don't. There is an options to buy the upper pillow mount, but I don't want to spend another $400+.

let me tell you my experience:
i got the eibach pro-kit on my accord (lowers 1.2 in) it caused a slight bit of negative camber. nothing to worry about. i had the shop fix this problem with a slight toe adjustment. that cost 60$
look around at as many shops as you can for pricing. i went with a friend to many diff places when he wanted someone to install his springs (springs only) toyota dealership wanted 650$ i grabbed him by the shirt and pulled him out of there as fast as i could. next shop: 500+$. next shop:"we cant do it" next shop: 150$. (sigh of relief) last shop 120$ and they could do it right away. plus he actually paid more than most of us would need to because he drives a corolla which many speed shops arent familiar with.
