0 to 110 mph...

I didn't really know which forum to post this in, so I figured I'd drop it here and the mods can decide where it should fall... anyways, I know some of you guys have hated on my car for being slow, and I will admit its not exactly a rocket or even fast for that matter, but I figured Id make a lil video and post it so yall could see whatsup... btw- when I hit 75 or 80 I start going uphill, then at 90 it levels out again...

Yeah, after about 70 my car starts to drag like hell and takes forever to get the speed up... damn torque curve... anyways, yeah, sorry for the shaky camera work, but it was done with a lil handheld cam and its kinda hard to hold steady at those speeds... I will try to get a vid on a surface with less bumps and no incline...

holy shits, you do 0-60mph in under 6 seconds??? never knew those ****ing trucks responded so well to mods can you say downhill?

looks to me like the road was shaped like a U for it to fall so flat on its face after 70mph...

I agree about the 0-60 thing. 0-60 came up FAST. That is just under 6 seconds. By any chance, if you went uphill around 70ish-90 whatever, is it possible you were going DOWNHILL at some point, like in the beginning? That thing doesn't do 0-60 that fast. The rest of it seems on par though. What mods do you have, if any?

im expecting that the accelleration curve would be anything NEAR the roughly 5.8 seconds it took the truck to get to 60.. it went from mustang slayer to geo slayer in 1 upshift

running WAAAY to rich i did a 15.0@97 with 17s, wheel hop, and about 85-90 degree temps. (this was also while learning to launch my car)

my friend just pulled a 13.7@102 with just bolt-ons (prelude) he dosnt leave me too bad either... about .3-.5 or so 1/4 distance upto 100ish

Ok guys, it wasn't downhill... it was about 25 degrees outside, so that helped ... I said I will try to find somewhere to do it where it is more flat so you can see better how I hold up at 70+mph instead of fighting an uphill battle (literally)... and yeah, I got some mods but don't really feel like going into them in detail- basically I unchoked the engine and did the lightweight rims and tires thing...

im sorry to be a hater even when you try to prove yourself but a 17 second truck that does 9 second 0-60's is not gonna lose no 3+ seconds CAUSE ITS COLD WTF KINDA SHIT IS THAT... there is other factors here... like downhillness and the rims and tires thing...

Well we ARE talking about Japanese HP here, which is always higher than yours or mine ford50...... Hell, I hope the highlander doesn't have VVT, or it's all over. A 2 ton truck with my stock hp rating, with less TQ. I think I'm done. I don't want to go 0-60 with this beast.

get a run dead stop with another car then we cant say shit, doesnt even matter about the driver, just get your car against a new altima v-6 that should be an even match to 60 from a dead stop... 0-60 with a camera, HELL GET YOU GRANDPAS S500 AND PIN IT UP AGAINST THE highlander 0-60 BOTH ARE ABOUT HIGH 5's FROM WHAT I SAW ON THE VIDEO, and you obviously got a camera

nah I started at beginning- speedometer doesnt register until like 10mph... I would guess 250hp/tq with the mods, but of course there is no AWD dyno anywhere near here so I don't really know... I cant run it against the S500 bc my grandparents live 200 miles from me, and were just staying here while my parents were outta town... my mom has a 2001 bmw325ci, but it is slow as hell 0-60 so that wouldnt be a good measure... its not my digicam, but was borrowed so I dont always have it with me...

thanks for the sarcasm a-hole... I dont really see how I was bragging about anything on my car: hell, I even said it wasnt very fast (read first post)... I wasnt saying its a fast car, just postin for the hell of it- yea it does have vvt, but I never said that made it good... dont be an ass just for the sake of being an ass, you don't exactly make friends that way... understand?

alright imma be blunt, i simply dont believe it was a straightaway, thats all, take the camera (if you can get it) and just take the road before you do a 0-60 thats all then ill believe it, i just find it hard to believe that if i pulled up next to some person in a toyota highland that i knew was gonna go for it at a light that i would have ANY TROUBLE AT ALL KEEPING UP.... i got of 80 more tq, better gearing, more grip on takeoff, more hp and did i mention i weigh over 1000 lbs less? which add up to over 3 seconds difference in the 1/4.

DUDE MY BOYS 96 cobra had a best 0-60 of 5.99 seconds when it was stone stock BEST OF 15+ RUNS, and i seriously doubt that that truck would take him to 60 on a straight road.. it just doesnt add up.

i hate to be a freaking hater but it doesnt make sense unless you got a forced induction system. cars dont magically gain over 3 seconds 0-60 because its cold and your behind the wheel.

See, I told yall there were haters ... 96 cobras arent exactly fast... Ive raced them, and yes, they beat me, but they arent exactly fast... as for 96 mustang GTs, hah, those things are a joke
Next time I borrow the digicam and am bored and out by myself late at night with no traffic on the interstate so I can stop I will record it again and post it... happy?

they run high 13's from the factory i dont see how that is slow but to every man his own. the gt's are a ****ing joke if there 96-98, the 94-95's respond just as well to modifications as the 5.0 does because its the same motor but still have trouble clicking off 14 second 1/4 miles i saw one at englishtown with SLICKS AND SKINNIES and exhaust (i dont know what else) POWERSHIFTING HIS WAY TO 15.2 1/4 MILES i WANTED TO BURN THAT CAR....

Now now boys....

See I don't think that ford50 means to be a hater or an A-hole. it's just that he comes from racing Stangs and he seems to know his shit. And I do partially agree with him, how TF did you run those times. I know the newer trucks have some power, but those times are racing stats.

Ford F150 Lighting pulls like 5 second 0-60's (4.7 i think), and I don't think a highlander compairs to that.
