Help with 1996 Intake Installation
Hi i'm new here, anywhere here is my problem I bought a Ractive Superflow Intake system for a 1996 Honda Accord EX. Here is the problem, for the hood to close I will need to remove a little black box (located on top of the battery) that says "FILTECH INC. Honda>PP~T<" . If I remove the FILTECH, the intake will fit but... there was a little hose that plugged into the FILTECH. Where can I plug the hose, or should I leave it?
Thanks, John |

to install the intake you have to remove the factory air box (with the big rubber tube attached to it.)
and swap in the new intake..

Hmm... its not a problem on mine. I'll take a look later and see though.
Does this thing look like you could relocate it without too much trouble?

while we're looking under the hoods of our fith gens...could somebody tell me what the hell that black plastic thing is that rests against the battery is. It can be pulled right out and below there is what looks to be an air port (ha airport), so the purpose of the black thingy appears to be to bring air up and direct it at the battery. But what the hell is the purpose of this?!?! I'm sure that batteries do not need to be cooled like this....so what's going on down there?
